0.30 carats, GIA certified F colour and VS2 clarity, set on a twisted band of 18K white gold.

At 0.30 carats the stone no longer needs help being noticed, so the twist is doing something different here than it does on a smaller ring. The two strands cross beneath the setting and lift the diamond clear of the finger, leaving a shadow line under the girdle. That gap is what separates the stone visually from the hand — a flat shank lets the two read as one plane, while a raised one gives the diamond an outline.

The trade-off worth knowing: a twisted shank is harder to resize than a plain one, because the strands have to be cut and re-aligned rather than simply shortened. It can be done, but it is bench work rather than a routine adjustment.

F is the last colourless grade and VS2 the last reliably eye-clean one — the same combination as our plain 0.30 ct solitaire, so the shank is genuinely the only variable between them. The lighter twist: 0.20 ct F VS1.
