6.28 carats of marquise-cut diamonds in 18K white gold, graded F in colour and VS1 to VS2 in clarity — the only navette-shaped line in our tennis collection.
The marquise is the most efficient of the brilliant shapes at converting carat weight into visible area. A marquise faces up considerably larger than a round of the same weight because the weight is spread lengthways rather than held in depth. Laid point to point along a wrist, the effect compounds: this bracelet covers far more of the wrist than 6.28 carats of round brilliants would.
The shape has a known weakness — the bow-tie, a dark band across the centre where the pavilion fails to return light. It is a function of cutting proportions, appears on no certificate, and is the first thing we check when we buy marquise goods.
For the other fancy-shape line, see 5.45 ct pear cut. In rounds at a similar weight: 7.93 ct F–G. Full range: tennis bracelet collection.
