5.88 carat diamond bangle in 18K white gold
A rigid bangle set with 5.88 carats of round brilliant diamonds, running as a continuous line of light around the wrist. The quality of the stones is the point here, and it is well above what a pavé piece at this scale usually carries.
D to E, VVS1 to VVS2
Most pavé jewellery of six carats is set with G to H colour and VS to SI clarity, because at small individual sizes the difference is hard to see and much easier to pay for. This bangle is set with stones graded D to E in colour — the top two grades on the colourless scale — and VVS1 to VVS2 in clarity.
Across a large number of small stones that decision compounds. Melee sits close together and close to the metal, so any warmth in the colour reads collectively rather than stone by stone: a G pavé band looks faintly champagne next to a D one, even when no single stone would betray itself alone. At D to E the whole surface stays white.
Why a bangle is harder than a bracelet
A bangle is rigid, and that changes the work. A flexible tennis bracelet drapes and moves, and movement forgives a great deal — slight variations in stone size or setting height disappear as the piece shifts on the wrist. A bangle holds still. Every stone is permanently on show at the same angle, so the melee has to be matched far more tightly and each seat cut to the same depth, or the line reads uneven under a single light source.
18K white gold
Rhodium-finished white gold, chosen so the metal disappears between the stones and the diamond line reads as continuous rather than as stones mounted on a band. Hand-set in our Antwerp workshop.
A unique piece
