0.25 carats, D colour and VVS2 clarity, certified by HRD Antwerp and set on a slim band of 18K white gold.
HRD is the Antwerp laboratory. It was established by the diamond trade of this city, it grades on the same D–Z colour and IF–I clarity structure the industry uses everywhere, and its reports are read fluently by every dealer on the Pelikaanstraat. For a stone bought, set and sold within a few hundred metres of that street, it is the natural document.
What it certifies here is the top of one scale and near the top of the other. D means no colour was detectable against master stones; VVS2 means the inclusions are difficult to find even at ten-power magnification. At 4 mm across, neither grade is something the eye will ever verify — they are there to be recorded, and this is the weight at which recording them is affordable.
The band is kept slim so the proportion works in the stone’s favour.
GIA-certified alternatives at nearby weights: 0.30 ct F VS2 and 0.31 ct D VVS1.
