The one pendant shape that cannot hang crooked
Nearly every pendant has a top. A letter, a heart, a cross, a single stone in a bail — each of them has one orientation that is right and a range of others that look like a mistake. They spend the day rotating slowly on the chain and settling at whatever angle friction leaves them.
A four-fold rosette has no top. Turn it a quarter and it is the same piece. This flower is built from four marquise diamonds meeting point-inward at a common centre, so its symmetry repeats every ninety degrees. Whatever the chain does over the course of a day, the pendant is never wearing wrong. It is a small thing until you have owned a pendant that is always slightly off, and then it is the whole difference.
What a chain does that an ear never does
A stud is fixed. It faces forward, it is seen from one angle, and the back of it is against the earlobe where nobody looks. A pendant is the opposite: it swings, it turns, it lifts when you move, and over a day it shows every side of itself including the reverse.
That changes what has to be finished. The gallery under these four stones is open and polished rather than closed and left rough, because the underside becomes visible every time the pendant flips forward. The chain runs through a small integrated loop instead of a heavy soldered bail, so there is no lump of metal sitting above the flower breaking the outline when it turns edge-on. Four claws hold each marquise at the girdle and nothing crosses the table.
42 cm, and where a flower this size lands
The chain is 42 centimetres. On most necks that places the pendant just below the hollow of the throat, at the top of the sternum — high enough to sit above a crew neckline rather than disappear behind it, low enough not to ride on the collarbone.
The length matters more for a wide ornament than for a single stone. A four-marquise rosette spreads across roughly a centimetre; at 45 or 50 cm it would sit in the softer area lower down and read as a cluster of separate stones. At 42 cm it sits where the chest is flat and reads as one object with a shape. That is why we do not offer this one long.

The same flower, elsewhere
The design exists across the collection. The white gold pendant is the cooler reading of the same four petals, and the 0.78 ct earrings in yellow gold are the matching pair — the same rosette, twice, at nearly double the weight.
